Ghargur

The Parish Church of St Bartholomew is a fine example of late Baroque architecture built between 1610 and 1638. Its graceful façade and twin bell towers dominate the village skyline. Inside, visitors can admire the titular painting by Giuseppe Cali, depicting the martyrdom of St Bartholomew, as well as a collection of sacred relics and ornate silver works that reflect the parish’s long-standing devotion.

The church’s harmonious proportions and richly decorated interior make it one of the architectural highlights of Malta’s smaller hilltop parishes, offering a glimpse into the island’s deep Catholic heritage.
