Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Gżira celebrates its principal feast in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the second Sunday of July. The festa brings the town to life with colourful street decorations, marching bands, fireworks, and a solemn procession through the streets. In recent years, a special, symbolic, and highly anticipated tradition involves transporting the parish titular statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel by boat from Manoel Island to the shore near the bridge.
