Birkirkara

Birkirkara (or "B’Kara" as locals call it) is one of Malta’s largest and is known to be the second most densely populated towns on the island. While much of the town has been modernised, its historic core is a charming maze of narrow alleys, stone balconies, and centuries-old chapels. At the heart of it all is St Helen’s Basilica, an architectural gem that crowns the town’s spiritual and cultural life. Birkirkara is also home to plenty of shops and eateries, making it a lively stop for a bite to eat, a quick coffee, or a bit of local shopping as you explore central Malta.
