Birzebbuga

Located on Malta’s southeastern coast, Birżebbuġa sits where four scenic valleys (Wied Dalam, Wied Żembaq, Wied Qoton and Wied il-Buni) meet the sea. Its name translates as “well of olives”, a nod to the area’s fertile past. While the town centres around the sandy charm of Pretty Bay, it also boasts a

rich tapestry of history, from the prehistoric depths of Għar Dalam Cave to the Bronze-Age settlement at Borġ-in-Nadur, and the fortified redoubts built during the era of the Knights of St. John. Today, Birżebbuġa merges its seaside leisure and café-lined promenade with centuries of heritage and the busy modern presence of the Malta Freeport.
