Attard

The Parish Church of the Assumption of St Mary in Ħ’Attard is celebrated as one of Malta’s finest Renaissance churches. Constructed between 1613 and 1624, its design is attributed to master stonemason and Attard native Tommaso Dingli, though some sources suggest it may have originated with the more

experiencedd architect Vittorio Cassar. The church's symmetrical façade features six niches housing statues of saints and biblical figures, sculpted by Francesco Saverio Sciortino in 1945. Inside, the church boasts a cruciform layout with a central dome and two side chapels. The surrounding streets are adorned with various holy niches and statuettes, including representations of the Madonna, St Joseph, St Peter, and St Paul.
