Dingli

Though Dingli’s parish roots stretch back to before 1436, when the area was still known as Ħal Tartarni, the current parish church is a relatively modern construction. Designed by architect Franġisku Zammit in the form of a Latin cross, the present church was built in phases starting in 1903 to replace an earlier one that could no longer accommodate the growing village. Built using local limestone from Ta’ Wirxina, the structure wasn't fully completed until the 1950s. Today, the church stands as a prominent spiritual and architectural focal point at the heart of this small hilltop community.
