Church of St Nicholas

The Parish Church of St. Nicholas in Siġġiewi stands as one of Malta's most striking examples of Baroque architecture. Built between 1675 and 1693, its grand façade immediately draws the eye, marked by a large central doorway, framed by ornate stonework, leading to an elevated entrance. Above, the façade is adorned with sculptural elements, including figures of saints and angels, embodying the drama and movement characteristic of the Baroque style.

The church’s grand entrance leads to a soaring interior, where the titular painting by renowned artist Mattia Preti (the mastermind behind the vault of St. John’s Co-Cathedral) graces the altar.
