Ghaxaq
Ħal Għaxaq is a traditional Maltese village with deep historical roots and a strong sense of community. Its name is believed to originate from the noble Axiaq family, feudal landholders in the 14th century.
Today, while mostly a quiet residential area, Għaxaq has in recent years embraced a series of grassroots initiatives aimed at opening the village to more visitors. Annual musical festivals and community celebrations around key holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and Carnival have added a lively rhythm to village life.
