Parish Church of St Mary

Built by the villagers themselves over five decades, The Parish Church of the Assumption of Our Lady was consecrated in 1784 and remains a fine example of Baroque craftsmanship. Inside, visitors can admire works by Malta’s most celebrated artists, including Francesco Zahra, Gio Nicola Buhagiar, Rokku

Buhagiar, and Gianni Vella, alongside stunning ceiling paintings by Emvin Cremona completed in the 1960s. From its ornate marble altar to its luminous dome, the church is both a house of worship and a living gallery of Maltese religious art.
