Village

Safi

Ħal Safi is a small, tranquil village in the Western Region of Malta, set between Żurrieq and the equally small town of Kirkop. The name Safi, which in Maltese means “pure” or “untouched,” reflects the pace of life here which still feels relaxed.

Founded well before modern times (the area being known in medieval records), it was agricultural at its core. The village has evolved but retains its charm with quiet roads, local shops, the friendly band club, niches of saints in façades, and deeply rooted festa culture, especially around its patron saint St Paul.
