Santa Venera
Santa Venera is a centrally located town in Malta’s Southern Region, situated between Birkirkara and Ħamrun and bordering Msida and Qormi. With a population of just under 9,000, it developed rapidly during the 20th century from what was once a rural settlement along the historic route linking Rabat and Valletta.
The locality takes its name from Saint Venera, a Christian martyr venerated in Malta for centuries. Several historic landmarks mark the area, including the arches of the Wignacourt Aqueduct and Casa Leoni, a Baroque palace built in the 18th century.
