The Feast

Santa Venera

Saint Venera

The feast of Santa Venera, celebrated annually in July, is the highlight of the town’s religious calendar. Festivities bring the streets to life with traditional decorations, band marches, and fireworks typical of Maltese summer feasts. A central moment is the procession of the titular statue through the streets accompanied by brass bands and large crowds of devotees.

Parish celebrations are organised in collaboration with local band clubs and community groups, reflecting the strong parish identity of the town. The feast also honours the Carmelite presence in Santa Venera, whose friars have long played a key role in the parish’s spiritual life.
